GUY BOISVERT - DOUBLE BASS
Double bass player Guy Boisvert graduated from McGill University in jazz interpretation and has been a member of François Bourassa Quartet since 1982. With six recordings, the quartet was granted in 2001, the Juno of the best contemporary jazz album of the year for the Live recording. In 2004, the members of the ensemble received the Félix for the album IndefiniteTime in addition to the four Opus prizes received so far. Guy accompanied several artists and played on the Terez Montcalm, Yannick Rieu and Steve Hill album. Guy collaborated in the cinema soundtracks of Jack Paradise and Omerta series. Since 1990 he has been teaching at Cégep de Drummondville and at McGill University. He is a passionate double bass player and is working at his second album with Yannick Rieu.
