The François Richard Nouvel Orchestra offers up jazz as modern as it is romantic. Onstage, the outfit presents pieces from the Nouvel Orchestra album as well as new compositions by flautist François Richard. The 11-piece orchestra will be joined by renowned violinist Mark Feldman, appearing as a soloist and also directing the string section. A member of John Abercrombie's group, the guest of honour has previously played with such artists as John Zorn, Chris Potter, Lee Konitz and Joe Lovano, Michael Breker as well as leading his own ensemble.
The project is based on collaborations with Mark Feldman at Lincoln Center in New York during may 2008 and a concert at GESU Hall in Montréal in February 2009 part of event «Jazz All Year Round» of Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. In November 2009 the ensemble did a tour in France.

Les Créations Musicales François Richard propose une soirée éclatée et créative avec des musiciens chevronnés ayant en commun une facilité et une passion pour l’improvisation et la création spontanée. Un monde d’espaces sonores tout à fait imprévisibles. Contribuant par des sonorités propres à son impulsion créatrice, la personnalité de chacun mène à des influences variées et des styles inattendus.
En effet l’ensemble improvise sur des canevas et des thèmes concoctés par chaque musicien du projet, qui sont, en plus d’être des instrumentistes chevronnés des compositeurs possédant chacun un style particulier. Il s’agit d’une rencontre exceptionnelle d’autant plus que chaque artiste possède à
son actif plusieurs CD sur le marché et une belle feuille de route.
